God's Blessings to Pastor Tim & Rhonda

Pastor Tim and Rhonda left Southern Illinois on September 2nd to begin a new ministry in Granite Falls, North Carolina.  We thank God for their ministry here in De Soto and pray God's blessings on them as they continue their ministry in a new congregation.

Welcome to our Interim Pastor

We welcome Rev. David H. Swan as Mt. Calvary's Interim Pastor.  Pastor Dave will be with us as we begin the process of preparing to call a new minister to Mt. Calvary.  Please remember to keep Pastor Dave and the Mt. Calvary congregation in your prayers as we go into the coming months.

Women of the ELCA Southern Conference Fall Fellowship Day

Tuesday, September 14, 2010 at De Soto Park beginning at 9:30 a.m.

Plan now to attend the annual WELCA Fall Fellowship Day at De Soto Park.  Registration/coffee hour begins at 9:30 a.m. with Devotions and Program beginning at 10:00 a.m.

The program will be presented by Marjorie Kemp of the Shawnee Alliance Services for Seniors and she will speak on the topic "Hints that Every Senior Citizen Should Know"

Lunch will be served at a cost of $6.00 and will include BBQ Chicken, Baked Beans, Slaw and Dessert.

Mt. Calvary is responsible to provide the items for the coffee hour.  If you are willing to donate items, please contact Doris at the church office.

ELECTRONIC GIVING COMES TO MT. CALVARY

For those who wish to utilize electronic giving, it is now available by clicking below or on the link at the left side of this page. The system we have chosen is endorsed by Thrivent Financial Bank and Thrivent for Lutherans Financial Services.  The giving choices you make initially and any changes you make in the future are totally controlled by you and the choices you make.  If, after reviewing the information on the weblink, you have any questions, please contact the church office and you will be put in contact with someone who can assist you.  If you would prefer to have someone help you with "hands on" setup, help is available after church  in the Fellowship Hall on Sunday mornings for several weeks.

Regular offering envelopes will still be used by all who want them and will continue to be provided.
